Despite how bad the prequels are, it definitely felt like a story was being told.

I liked TFA because it was the setup movie. I felt like things would only get better.

Instead it ended up being like many failed TV shows that start out great for the pilot (TFA) and fall apart by the second episode.

Anyone who watched TFA without rose colored glasses knew TLJ would suck. TFA had SO many issues, inconsistencies, and already began deconstructing the pre-established lore.

Everyone should have been disappointed in TLJ but I truly question the sanity of anyone who was actually surprised by how bad it was.

Luke is a waste. More than a waste, Luke's character and the way he was destroyed is an insult and a travesty. The destruction and desecration of Luke's character will be talked about for years.

Finn was wasted. Comic relief with an unnecessary side quest that was totally unengaging. Even more so for Rose cuz I had no reason to be invested in her.

Leia should have died in space, there's NO REASON to keep her alive... What the actual f***? Dying in space would have been memorable now she has to die offscreen. She doesn't even do anything the rest of the movie.

Akbar dies off screen like a chump? Give HIM the Holdo maneuver.

Holdo was a bad leader and a waste. Poe was also a bad leader. That whole mutiny plot was silly and contrived and hard to believe.

Phasma was a huge waste, brought back to die to Finn... Ok.

Snoke was wasted and taken out like a chump after exhibiting immense Force powers he then jobs to Kylo Ren by not paying attention or sensing the attack? What the actual f***? And no backstory. No explanation.

Rey still has zero training but is able to go toe to toe with literally everyone, kills the Imperial guards, and is basically better than Kylo Ren. Rey even knocks Luke Skywalker on his ass. Rey whups Luke and puts him on his ass... Think about the stupidity of this s***.

As if there aren't a ton of reviews with hundreds of inconsistencies, plot points, bad storytelling, plot contrivances, inconsistent character motivations, lack of backstory, unrealized plotlines, and a ton of other objective and story based issues that have NOTHING to do with feminism or the female characters.

Hate disingenuous people who pretend there's nothing wrong with the movie from a fundamental film and storytelling perspective.

There's a shit ton of issues with the film without bringing up complaints about female characters or anything 'SJW' related.

People like to down player her power . She beat Luke one on One. She was just as powerful as him when it come to the force pull. She did just was good if not better than Kylo when they were righting the Guards. And remember all of this with a light saber something that has not spent a lot of time training with .

Yeah they doubled down on Rey being powerful with no subtlety or nuance. She bests Luke, she beats Kylo, she whups the guards.

This makes no sense. The First Order was supposed to be the rag tag remnants of the Empire. The Republic should have control of most of the galaxy even if they lost the Hosnian system in the previous movie...

They aren't a rag tag group. They've been building themselves up in secret since the original trilogy and the Republic don't have an army. There's only the Resistance.

I don't think TFA did a good job setting this up.

Stop defending this. First off, the First Order being so powerful just rubs me the wrong way I know they explained in the first film (poorly) but it's just dumb. And even if the Republic has no army, they should have some sort of authority and presence in the universe. How the fuck does the government function?

Second off, Luke's actions are still dumb. Like he's gonna murder his nephew, a child, his best friend and sister's kid in his sleep cuz he's falling to the Dark Side? Wtf? Premeditated murder of a loved one? Luke Skywalker? No. No no no.

And Rey vs Luke, Luke gets bested by Rey. She knocks him on his ass and puts a saber to his throat. The analogy of "pulling a gun" makes sense if you kicked my ass in a fist fight first and THEN put a gun to my head.
